The Ladakh festival is a festival of people - their customs and traditions. Held in Leh from September 1 – 15 every year, the festival starts with a procession on the streets and brings together tribes from various villages. Dressed in finery, they gather on the streets of Leh to dance, sing and showcase their world to the tourists.
The women and men come from all parts of Ladakh . You find them from Shey, Basgo, Nyoma, Dah, Hanu and several other villages around Nubra and Zanskar . Although it is a bit difficult to communicate with them, most of them seem friendly and pose willingly for the camera.
